Our Homes

Maison des Pèlerins

Maison des Pèlerins is a completely renovated, delightful melange of modern amenities, convenience and traditional Provencal character.  Light, airy and comfortable, the decor uses beautiful local materials together with the craftsmanship of local artisans, creating the warmth and ambiance of a traditionally Provencal home. Wood-shuttered windows in the living room, dining room and kitchen look out over the rooftops of Sablet, across the vineyards, to the Dentelles de Montmirail and the neighboring villages of the Cote du Rhone wine producing region. Spectacular views from every window, a charming, private courtyard, comfortable spacious rooms, central heating, a cozy wood burning stove, and air-conditioned bedrooms make Maison des Pèlerins very inviting all year round.

La Baume des Pèlerins

The name, La Baume is a commonly used Provencal word which means “grotto or cave".  Our "baume" provides a wonderful, spacious and cool "outdoor" area for this home.  La Baume des Pèlerins is beautiful and modern, although in a very old building (well above ground).  It says, “… You’re in Provence-present!”The feel is very much one of today’s Provencal home - a wonderful combination of local character, décor and use of space combined with today’s Provencal style. La Baume des Pèlerins is literally about one minute’s walk from the village square.

Sablet in Provence

A truly Provencal village ...... .....situated in the heart of the Cote du Rhone wine producing region, this relaxed, charming, fortified village is rich in history, gastronomy, leisure and cultural activities. It is, as yet, a largely undiscovered treasure, which lies at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail but allows one access to every part of Provence within easy day-tripping distance. The oldest part of the village "inside the walls" (the remparts), is made up of narrow streets or 'ruelles", built in a circular fashion around the beehive shaped hill, which afforded inhabitants protection against numerous invaders over many centuries. The picturesque "village houses" are huddled together and provide a glimpse into the lives of Sablet's inhabitants - over hundreds of years - as they went about their daily lives doing their washing at one of the numerous fountains in the village, climbing the "Escaliers de l' Eglise" to the 12th Century church of St. Nazaire or visiting the shoemaker on the "Rue du Cordonnier."
