Climbing into the hills (Alpilles) approximately 7 – 8 kms from St. Remy de Provence, you arrive at Les Baux de Provence. A picturesque, medieval village that has the appearance of being carved right out of a very prominent cliff.

The narrow stone village streets are filled with small boutiques and cafes, beyond which lies the ruins of the old chateau-fortress.

Trebuchet Catapult
On display in the grounds of the old chateau are some incredibleexamples of medieval warfare including a Trebuchet which is a 12th – 16th Century Sling Catapult.
