Ever dreamed of taking Cooking Classes in France?       

I had.......



(rewind)    New Year’s Eve 2006/2007…


We were enjoying the fun, good friends and a predictable incredible meal at Les Abeilles. The Feuillité (feather light puff pastry hors douvres) had really grabbed my attention and I kept wondering, “How does he do this?!!”  
It was just too hard to resist when a little later in the evening,  Chef Johannes came into the dining room to wish everyone, “Happy New Year!”
I took the opportunity and asked him.  His response was, “What are you doing on Wednesday morning?”  My response – “I’m here!”  On Wednesday morning he took me through the “pastry making mystery ” and demystified it – simply and methodically! 
It really was simple!  I even made the Feuillité had been so taken by a couple of days earlier ....... and learned to have it “mis en place” ready to go right into the oven when unexpected guests arrive! 

I'm a convert!
 

 I now make all my own pastry and have it ready in the freezer – I’ve saved a fortune on  packages that contain just 2 sheets of puff pastry!  This man is a miracle worker if he could teach me to make pastry!
 
Now …  no visit to Sablet  is complete  without a morning’s cooking with Johannes!



Many guests  who have  visited  Provence and Maison des Pelerins  have a strong interest in the markets, the wonderful, fresh, seasonal produce and Provencal cuisine.  Over the years a number of guests have taken classes with Chef Johannes Sailer of Les Abeilles and have always raved about them as you will see in our guests comments page.

The package includes:  One week’s accommodation at Maison des Pelerins for up to 4 guests plus  three days of cooking classes with Johannes.  Classes will focus on seasonal menus and when arranged you will be asked for input to make sure special areas of interest are addressed. Each day begins in the morning and concludes with a fabulous lunch that you have helped prepare.

Classes are available in the Fall, Winter and early Spring months.  If you would like more information - please contact me.  Prices for the packages will vary according to the time of the year and are available upon request.
